Health Literacy and Cancer
Low health literacy is a system-wide problem leaving patients in a position where they cannot easily access, understand or navigate their health and the healthcare system. Low health literacy is also a significant burden on healthcare providers (HCPs) and systems. Low health literacy has been called a silent epidemic because of the negative impact it has on health. There is hope though. Communication is central to improving health literacy.
